Think Pink

Pink seems to be one of the top colours of this spring for bloggers and celebrities everywhere. The colour isn’t overwhelming (unless you want it to be of course), there is a variety of shades available to suit different skin types and you can incorporate it to your wardrobe with accessories, everyday knitwear, light jackets, coats as well as plain or patterned bottoms. The possibilities are endless.

The title of this blog post was inspired by a movie Funny face (1957) starring Audrey Hepburn, where a magazine editor Maggie decides the latest issue is boring and declares every woman (except her) shall wear pink. Check out stills and lyrics to Maggie’s song about pink:

I put together a few of my favourite items and looks from street style and runways and recreated the look with a little help of affordable high-street brands. Here’s the result:

I love the long flowing skirt that Jessica Alba paired with oversized sunglasses, cropped black turtleneck and delicate sandals – she looks like a 21st century Disney princess, doesn’t she? In case you were wondering, she wore this to┬áto Ralph Lauren’s runway show at the┬áMercedes-Benz Fashion Week in September.

I wonder if something like this is appropriate for a guest to wear at a summer wedding (with a sleeveless version of the top, obviously). What do you think?
More about summer wedding outfits is coming soon!
